We categorize our content to ensure that every piece of writing has a clear functional role within the journal:
Policy Briefs (The Pragmatic Pillar): We translate complex research into actionable intelligence. A policy brief at Omniscia must answer: What is the systemic impact of this data on governance and social infrastructure?
Cultural Perspectives (The Human Pillar): Science and policy do not exist in a vacuum. We explore the "why" behind the "what," analyzing how cultural shifts influence—and are influenced by—technical progress.
Synthesis Reviews (The Connective Pillar): These are the heart of our journal. Authors are tasked with taking two or more seemingly unrelated fields and identifying the "interstitial logic" that binds them.
Transdisciplinary Original Research (The Foundational Pillar): We publish new findings that utilize methodologies from multiple disciplines. We prioritize research that is "un-siloed" from the moment of hypothesis.
Our Peer-Synthesis Process
Unlike traditional peer review, which often checks for "narrow correctness," our review process adds a second layer: Integration Check.
Vertical Review: Experts in your specific field verify the technical accuracy of the data or arguments.
Horizontal Review: Our editorial board assesses how well the work connects to other disciplines. Does the Policy Brief account for Cultural shifts? Does the Research acknowledge its Policy implications?
Synthesis Refinement: We work with authors to sharpen the "connective tissue" of their work, ensuring it is legible and valuable to a polymath audience.
Technical Standards
To facilitate unified inquiry, we require all submissions to adhere to the Omniscia Clarity Standard:
Avoid Hyper-Jargon: Define discipline-specific terms for a multi-disciplinary audience.
The "So What?" Factor: Every piece must explicitly state its relevance to at least one other field of study.
Data Integrity: All claims must be supported by rigorous citation, regardless of the "style" (essay vs. research paper).
