Join the Inquiry: Submission Guidelines
The Journal

Omniscia Reviews does not just publish papers; we curate a conversation. We are looking for contributors who possess "T-shaped" minds: deep expertise in one area, with a broad curiosity for how that expertise interacts with the rest of the world.

Submission Tracks

To accommodate our diverse community, we offer three distinct pathways for submission:

  • The Research Track: For original, transdisciplinary empirical studies. (Peer-reviewed, 5,000–8,000 words).

    • The Synthesis Track: For high-level reviews that bridge existing literature across at least two distinct fields. (Editorial-reviewed, 3,000–5,000 words).

      • The Perspective Track: For policy briefs, cultural critiques, and essays that provide "horizontal" insights into current events. (Editorial-reviewed, 1,200–2,500 words).

How to Submit

We utilize a two-stage submission process to respect our contributors' time:

Stage 1: The Abstract & Logic Map.

Instead of a full manuscript, send us a 500-word abstract and a brief "Logic Map" explaining:

  1. The primary discipline of your work.

  2. The secondary discipline(s) you are connecting it to.

  3. The "Synthesis Value"—why this connection matters now.

Stage 2: Full Manuscript.

If your proposal aligns with our current editorial focus, you will be invited to submit a full draft for our dual-layer (Vertical and Horizontal) review process.

Collaborate

Beyond individual authorship, we offer several ways to engage with the journal:

  • For Institutions: We partner with universities and think tanks to produce "Special Inquiry Issues" centered around a specific global challenge (e.g., The Ethics of Synthetic Biology or Urbanization in the Post-Digital Age).

  • For Freelancers: We maintain a roster of "Synthesis Correspondents" who are commissioned to write cultural perspectives and policy summaries on a recurring basis.

  • For Peer Reviewers: If you are a specialist who enjoys thinking outside your silo, join our reviewer database to help maintain the rigor of our horizontal inquiry.

Submission FAQ

Do you charge Article Processing Charges (APCs)?

We believe in the democratization of knowledge. Our funding model relies on institutional partnerships and subscriptions, keeping the barrier to entry low for independent scholars and freelancers.

Can I submit if I am not affiliated with a university?

Absolutely. We judge work based on intellectual rigor, clarity of synthesis, and the strength of the evidence, not the letterhead of the author.
